Chunky cable knit sweater cardigan

I thought I would never buy anything from forever21. But before I even knew it, three orders were placed, ;)

Some are going back, as expected. But I do like several pieces, including this chunky cable knit cardigan with antiqued metal buttons:

Cardigan: forever21

Scarf: AA
Jeans: quiksilver

Blueberry Cream Cheese Pound Cake

I found this recipe on www.allrecipes.com, in order to make good use of my soon to be expired cream cheese. And the recipe is indeed foolproof.
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil (I actually only used 1/4 cup, by mistake, but it turns out just fine).
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups blueberries
 Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease and flour a 10 inch Bundt pan.
  2. In a large bowl, stir together cake mix and sugar. Make a well in the center and pour in eggs, cream cheese, oil and vanilla. Beat on low speed until blended. Scrape bowl, and beat 4 minutes on medium speed. Stir in blueberries. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack and cool completely.
Here I proudly present the end result: yummy!

Strong shoulder pieces from Zara

There are so many strong shoulder pieces from ZARA last year (well, actually from everywhere...), even a person like me, who naturally has strong shoulder and who would by common sense try to avoid any shoulder padding, is intrigued.

The embellished strong shoulder strip sweater:

I love love this sweater, of course, the strips always wins me over. But the embellishment on the shoulder looks sophisticated and eye-catching too. The only reason I didn't buy it is that I have too many strips. Actually, I just bought one that day earlier at another store.

The strong shoulder leather biker jacket:
Sorry, the pic doesn't show much details. Again, big love. The price tag is a bit steep ($199 if I remember correctly). For ladies who have fatter wallet, go get it.

Wearing:
Shirt: GAP
Jeans: Quiksilver skinny jeans
Boots: Rosegold bow-tie boots

ZARA going online

My favorite store, ZARA, is going online, only not in the US. Ahh, what a bummer.

IMHO, ZARA is getting better and better. I was most exclusively shopping at Jcrew several months ago, but then I am getting tired. Now it is all about ZARA, and its existing new pieces every week.

Oh well, still have to wait for the marriage of my favorite hobby (online shopping) and favorite store.
